Abstract: Preimplantation genetic diagnosis （PGD）was firstly applied in 1990 in two couplesdiagnosed as adrenoleukodystrophy and X-linked mental retardation. It is widely used now in ART. However，There is continuous controversy about PGD. The medical application of PGD is widely acceptable，but its application for the non-medical purposes is still immersed in ethical controversy. In this paper，we reviewed the different acceptability and ethical issues of PGD which provide references for both patients and doctors.
