Abstract:

Perinatal uterine necrosis is a rare disease, commonly associated with severe postpartum hemorrhage and conservative hemostatic management. Meanwhile, uterine septum necrosis is exceptionally uncommon. We report a patient with complete placenta previa and uterine septum who developed isolated uterine septate necrosis following combined hemostasis-specifically, bilateral uterine artery ligation and Hayman's technique. The patient achieved a favorable outcome following conservative therapy. By reviewing the diagnosis and treatment process of the patient and summarizing the relevant literatures of the uterine septum necrosis caused by combined postpartum hemostatic techniques, we aim to enhance obstetricians' awareness of this under-recognized complication, improve suturing techniques when managing postpartum hemorrhage patients, limit combined surgical procedures, and prevent the occurrence of uterine necrosis.
