Abstract: Objective: To understand the situation of sex鄄related behaviors and needs for reproductive
health among unmarried factory migrant youth, and so as to provide scientific evidences for future sexual and
reproductive health education and services among unmarried migrant youth. Methods: It’s a cross鄄sectional
survey. Face鄄to鄄face interviews were adopted in the questionnaire survey and totally 509 valid questionnaires
were collected. SAS 9.0 software was used for data analyses. Results: The average age was 21.4依1.9 and 20.7依
1.6 among male and female subjects, respectively. 34.9% of the male subjects and 7.8% of the female subjects
have had premarital sexual intercourse, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). Results of
binary logistic regression analysis indicated that male subjects’scores for knowledge of sexual and
reproductive health and scores for premarital sexual permissiveness (PSP)were significantly associated with
premarital sexual intercourse, while female subjects’age and scores for premarital sexual permissiveness
(PSP)were significantly associated with premarital sexual intercourse. Among 104 subjects who have had
sexual intercourse,24.4% of male subjects and 33.3% of female subjects used contraceptive methods every
time,17.1% of male subjects made their sexual partners pregnant and 30.0% of female subjects responded
they have ever been pregnant. 83.3%(5/6)of female subjects have had abortion and 78.6% of male subjects’
partners have had abortion. Though most of unmarried migrant youths expected to have access to sexual and
reproductive health services, and felt too ashamed to get reproductive health education and services. Conclusions: The proportion of unsafe sexual behavior is quite high among factory unmarried migrants, which
make them face the risk of unwilling pregnancy and abortion. It is necessary to strengthen the provision of sexand reproductive health education and service among unmarried migrant youth in the future.
