Abstract: Menstrual cycle is a mirror which reflects the follicle development, ovulation and luteinization. This cycle is precisely regulated by the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovary axis. In aged women, this regulation becomes less and less precise with aging, which seems to be more important for those agedwomen undergoing ART. For ART, it is important that we should understanda new concept of ovarian cycle. This isa challenging concept for the observation of follicle development and ovulation. A new technique, ovum pick up whenever lutein phase and menstrual period, can be used to improve the pregnant rate.
