Abstract: Tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) is a new member of the TNF family, which widely expressed in human tissues. TWEAK plays biological roles by combining specifically its receptor, fibroblast growth factor-inducible 14 (Fn14). TWEAK -Fn14 system is important in regulating tumor development and prognosis, including cell apoptosis, tumor hyperplasia, differentiation, angiopoiesis, invasion and inflammation. It was demonstated that the TWEAK -Fn14 signaling was related to gynecologic tumors, and that TWEAK -Fn14 maybe a potential candidate target for treatment of gynecologic neoplasms.
