Assisted Reproductive Techniques and Its Potential Risks

Abstract: Assisted reproductive techniques (粤砸栽)has been developed rapidly for the last two
decades in China. There has been manya challenge of ART’ s risks, such as OHSS, puncture trauma
hemorrhage, mutiple pregnancy, IVF laboratory blunder in embryo and sperm manipulation are the common
complications, as well as the long-term effects from the ICSI or PGD, which are warns for collegues. Beinga
successful ART, the pregnancy rate alone should not be the only consideration. There are other aspects and
ideals of dealing with the risks of ART that we should seek. The successful ART should be safe, comfortable
and cost effective. The issues need to be totally considered.
