Abstract: The etiology and pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome（PCOS） are strongly associated with cell apoptosis. In this review，apoptosis in patients with PCOS was discussed，including its spatial and temporal characteristics，its factors and mechanisms，its effects on the oocyte quality and pregnancy outcome，as well as its potential interventions. It may be helpful to improve the etiological study and clinical therapy for PCOS.
