Abstract: The quantity and quality of oocytes could be improved by the ideal stimulation protocol for poor responders. The prediction of compromised response prior to cycle initiation by a thorough assessment of ovarian reserve could allow a more appropriate selection of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation protocols for each individual patient. Several strategies have been proposed for clinical management of poor responders, such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist short protocol, gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist protocol, milder ovarian stimulation, nature cycle and in vitro maturation, but the so-called ideal stimulation protocol still remains a challenge. So, the randomized controlled prospective trials with large samples are necessary.
