Abstract: Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS),a serious complication of the controlled ovarian hyperstimulation(COH),is related with the exogenous gonadotropins (Gn). The pathogenesis of OHSS is unclear, and there is not effective treatment. Scientists tried to develop animal models in different animals with different protocol of exogenous gonadotropins. With the successfully developed animal models, the pathological changes of ovarian tissues, levels of hormones, vessel active factors, and capillary permeability, have been explored. It is important to explore further the mechanism and precaution of OHSS.
