Abstract: It is for only 37 years since the birth of the first "test-tube baby" in 1978, with many problems deserving to be further studied in assisted reproductive technology (ART) as a emerging discipline. Lots of data in ART, such as the pregnancy rate, the implantation rate and the live birth rate, cause the concern of medical organization, medical worker and infertile couples. The clinical practice of ART shows that it is very important to develop and improve the follow-up systems after ART. The hot topic is how to develop a standard follow-up system. With the development of ART technology, the pursuing goals have been changing, for example, from the pregnancy rate to a healthy child, from the short term follow-up to the long term follow-up, from persuing superficial high rates to finding the reasons behind those rates. Meanwhile, there are some differences in the follow-up systems after ART in different countries. In this review, we introduced the follow-up systems after ART which were developed in our country and other countries.
