The Dyslipidemia in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Abstract: Polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine diseases in women of reproductive age. Lower HDL?-cholesterol is prominent lipid abnormality, furthermore, elevated levels of TG and LDL?-cholesterol may also occur in PCOS. Hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance and anovulation are correlated with dyslipidemia in PCOS. So, controlling weight, improving dyslipidemia and preventing long?-term complications play important roles in PCOS treatment.
